Stained Glass of Percy Bacon & Brothers
This is a large and imposing church consisting of aisled nave with clearstory, chancel, south porch and western tower. The aisles extend westward to embrace the tower. The roof line on the east side of the tower suggests a much steeper roof in earlier times. The tower was struck by lightning in 1902 and had to be rebuilt. The internal space is uninspiring and ordinary but for the 14th century(?) mutilated

and bench ends depicting the Seven Deadly Sins, as well as the splendid east window filled with Bacon glass.
There is a single Bacon window in St Peter & St Paul's, the east. It is a large five light window with tracery. The main lights, are in two stages each light containing two figures except the central upper light with Christ the Consoler. Viewed left to right: In the lower lights a number of saints having connections with East Anglia; Ss George & Osyth | Ss Felix & Ethedreda | The Angels Gabriel & Michael | Ss Margaret & Nicholas | Ss Withburga & Alban. In the upper portion of the main lights: BVM & St Mary Magdalene | Ss Mark & Peter | Christ Consoler | Ss Paul & Luke | Ss Stephen & John. In the tracery (following similar themes as in the east window tracery at nearby Snettisham) putti, some holding scrolls with the words from Proverbs 31:28, Alpha and Omega symbols on shields held by angels, and at the very top Christ in Majesty with the Holy Spirit in the form of a white dove. The window is dedicated to the memory of Julia Birch and is signed "Percy Bacon London".
