In October 1908, The Builder reported a single light window having been installed in the Catholic Apostolic Church in Birkenhead, but fails to mention the location. It contained the figure of St Paul with a scroll above which read, "I have fought the good fight".1

The church was built by architect David Walker, c 1865 and became the Catholic Apostolic Church in 1875.2 In 1951 it became the Church of Christ, but by the late 20th or early 21st century seems to have fallen out of use. On 27 June 2009 a fire broke out which completely gutted the building. In January 2023 the Liverpool Echo reported that the remains fo the church could be demolished to make way for flats.3 However, Google Streetview recorded the church ruins still standing in July 2024.
